The process isn't going easy for me I don't understand what's the problem

That's the #1 question for people selling beats online. Network with artists/rappers on forums, facebook, twitter, soundcloud, youtube, reverbnation etc. but don't just spam them.

Make dope beats & work with artists making noise. Focus on your brand and sound, and the rest will fall into place. Don't worry about the money immediately or you will find yourself in an uphill battle trying to sell beats.

A lot of hard work, It takes hard work dedication and perseverance. It is definitely not about the money in the beginning... You must BUILD RELATIONSHIPS with Artists, Managers, and so forth. Hit people up on Facebook, twitter, reverberation and just be a fan, acknowledge their craft and most importantly build an email contact list, don't be the spam producer, no one wants those.

Very true, watch the movie "The Social Network." The most important step in Facebook's success was not monetizing at all until Facebook was officially "cool" for many months. That's not to say you shouldn't be charging money for your beats. But offer as much as you can for free.

I don't think you can really compare Facebook to Selling Beats, they're completely different markets. Not for this topic, but what made Facebook successful was the exclusivity of it for years before they let anyone register.

The point still stands, don't be afraid to give away a few free beats to get your name out there.

I really like this comment. Sad things is, in my earlier times, when I offered beats for free, no one really wanted it. I sometimes had to beg people to use it. Now that I charge for beats, everyone's asking me for a free beat. Smh. Which way will ever win?

I think this is where networking comes into play and getting ppl to use your "free beats' gets easier if the person see your works "beats" as quality works and that you believe in their project and will do promo of the song/EP as well

that's why when my production/song development team will approach comtempary christian artists we will do a project for free "maybe 20-50 projects which will b 20-50 different artists for free"

get our name out there and build up our portfolio
for future clients to see our quality and build up our overall credibility

Not all artists have money. Not all artists are willing to spend the money they do have. Networking does work but it is the slowest way to sell beats period! Get into paid advertising if you have the budget....if not get your network on like SERIOUSLY. Find away to attract artists to you. It's better that way.

you need money, if you want to save yourself a lifetime of posting in forums and wasting your time asking people if they want beats, you need money. pay or build a website, pay for top notch marketing, and bam, if your product is good it will sell. If your not confident enough to put your money into it then you are wasting your time and should stop now.

you should check BeatPlacements.com. they provide email addresses of major label artist currently looking for beats.
