help on rapping and freestlying for begginers

Nod your help. Feel the beat. Say yo yo yo. Shout out your boy and whoever is hosting the freestyle if you can't think of anything. If you're just practicing in your bedroom, just go, Shoutsout ta my chair. Shoutsout bedsheets.

then just talk shit. Listen to Lil B. He raps about WHATEVER. Just rap about anything around you.

Just get a beat in your head and think of words that rhyme. I usually start out with yea or uh or something like that to get a feel for a beat in my head

Practise rapping along with your favourite tracks until you start to get a feel for what works and why it works.

Listen to as much rap music as you can. It seems like a dumb thing to say but it's really the biggest thing that's helped me. Even the stuff I don't like can have a line here or there that makes me say "Wow, that's amazing, how'd he even think to say that?"

Plus, the more you listen to the more you strive to become better. I can't speak on freestyling because it's not really my thing, but I'd imagine you have to become a pretty decent rapper before you move on to freestyling.

Just absorb as many rhymes and as much knoweldge about rhymes as you can, and don't be afraid to drop bars that suck. Your first track will almost never be very good, but if you improve every track or rap after that you'll be on point in no time.

Don't listen to anyones advice. If you don't like it enough to put in the time to get past the early hard parts with enthusiasm alone then you don't like it enough to do it well.

Become a mechanic.

Think ahead. While you're rapping words, you better be thinking of a word that rhymes and quickly constructing your next line so that it makes sense around that word before it's time to rap it. Also use filler words like "yeah", "uh-huh", and "you know," so you have more time to think.

Write all your freestyles, or record, then brush them up, memorize those lines that your like 'wow, did I say that?' And but them to the back of your brain, then in your bedroom, rap about your chair, then your bed, then the wardrobe, etc. (again record these), once you've listened to them, I've always been told to add metaphors, so always include one or two a verse. Then start battling the big boys (Y), when you feel your ready that is. Good luck.

foreal tho the way i taught myself to freestyle was just freestyling daily activities.

when i was looking for my car keys i would attempt to freestyle while looking for them/about looking for them.

its a practiced skill.

yup exactly practiced skill...rhyme all the time write words that rhyme and think obliquely and practice getting better...

i can rap pro ho go blow sho mo dough all day... but SO can MOST other people ....dont rap elementary cuz thats what youll be...

rap scholasticallly indefinitely unacceptable you wont be...also some cats might hate if you use big words, some cats might hate if you dont...**** em...do what ya do homie but it all comes down to expressing your true self

just do it dont think about practicin actually doit, listen to other rappers or chill with a crew who does they will enjoy your newbie flow cas they can laugh, eventually they will teach you. I ain't much of a freestyler but still given you an opinion YouTube - Cory Falls Freestyle part 2 <<< thats a video of me practicin just do that all day and you end up getting better.

Also write some thing like "Fresh like" an then describe all things fresh like new shoes, just bought raw meat, whatev

then try and rhyme with your list

Fresh like some new shoes,
my rhymes are the poo poo,
this is a demonstration for you to,
become a rapper and do what you doo doo ,<<<<<<<wack spits

My method:
1. Listen to as much hip-hop as you can. Keep listening to what you like but also check out different styles/areas/artists that you wouldn't normally listen to. I've also found that listening to different music in general helps in both producing and rapping (written or freestyle) It's all about the arsenal!
2. Read as much as you can. If I'm trying to be the best with the words, I figure I gotta know them/how to use them and when. I also suggest a rhyming dictionary, personally.
3. Reading/watching interviews of other rapper's writing process. Obviously everyone's process is unique and you shouldn't try to emulate them completely but I've picked up some techniques that have helped me a lot. One of those techniques is actually..
4. Freestyle whenever you can. I'm constantly freestyling in my head or real quiet (depending on where I'm at haha) while doing daily things. I saw an interview where Mos Def was talking about freestyling or coming up with lyrics while driving around. I tried it and bumping instrumentals and just spitting while driving around town is both fun and helpful to writtens/frees.
5. How to Rap book that interviews a ton of a legends and breaks all kinds of tracks down.

Good luck!

I always wonder why people ask these posts. Nobody can help you rap better. You listen to raps, say them, live them. Thats how you rap better.

I know Supernatural is an amazing freestyler and I saw an interview from a movie that explained how he gained his ability of freestyling from reading the dictionary everyday. It increased his vocabulary and gave him really complex words to rhyme with.

Hmmm... you ask... "how do you just like plain start out and progess and stuff" first of all, you can only progress through practice... but I guess what you want to know is where to start... well, have you tried to rap?

If you're looking for some technical aspect in freestyling, every rapper will tell you something different, which is why it's called free-style.

The best rappers all started with rhyming words, then they developed a style in the way they rhyme words. After constantly practicing rhyming words, they become efficient to flow freely hence free-style.

Think in rhyme, so that rhyming becomes a natural part of your thought process. Know that there's no right or wrong. Your flow may not sound that great, but it doesn't mean that what you're doing is wrong. Rhyming is a skill that can be honed. Being skilled in rhyming will help craft your art of Rapping.

practice, be careful to say things you dont mean! dangerous when your freestylign sometimes you can blurt out some bad stuff

just think of the words that rhyme and connect them together, rap about anything, and just write write write to beats or without.
