halp!!? how to format??!

this is software related my daw's now perform to a creep so i need to format. i dont have any recovery disk or anything and my cd drive is broken anyhow >< sooo i hesitate to lose all my vst's buut i have to.. how do i format without cd or drive? can i put a copy of windows on a external hard drive? HELP PLZ =(

you need to format your C Drive, which means you need a copy of the Operating system on either dick or bootable USB stick.

Have you done all you can to fix the issue before resorting to formatting? virus scan, removing bloat, reinstalling daw?

well the thing is i ran a antivirus that deleted some system files and i cant do a restore point plus its just been too long ...i really really dont want to but i have to .. and im thinking the only real way to do this is to fix the cd drive first?
