hi guys,

One thing i have always wondered about UK garage music, is whether there is a use of guitar in most songs. I am not sure if it's a actual guitar or some sort of synth. I have noticed that alot of early garage uses it. And also, how can i go about recreating it using aleton? Do i need to use a live actual guitar or shall i just find any guitar vst? Also, are they guitar stabs or just lil melodies/picking?

Thanks!

in this one there are two distinct guitars and two styles of playing on one of them
- a funky strat style of chording and
- single note fragments in that 80's style of play the root go to the flat 3rd back to the root down to the flat 7th back to the root
- an acoustic guitar that is fingerpicking through chords (after the 3 minute mark

maybe get yourself scarbee funk guitar for kontakt free or kontakt full for the most part and use the factory library acoustic guitar for the other part

this also has two distinct guitars and several ways of playing them
- an acoustic guitar that is fingerpicking through chords
- an semi-acoustic ES335/125/75 style guitar (maybe a les paul, but hard to tell here) playing chords
- playing short melodic fragments

in the intro there is also an electric guitar heavily filtered playing similar melodic fragments and chording

Thanks for the reply! I think, i might just invest in getting a guitar vst..It won' be the same but it's something, i guess...
