Hey guys,

Got my Axiom 61 but this stuff is ALOT harder then i expected.

What software is good with the axiom 61? I see people making really good music with this midi controller but not sure what software.

-How do i map the play, stop, record button to work with fruity loops? (ive joined that enigma group on yahoo but there isnt much help there with presets for fruity loops)

-My fruity loops is just the default installation so the loop is really small and im not sure how to extend it so i have more time to add sounds, loop only takes a few seconds to get back to the start.

-How do i extend it?

-How do i assign all the knobs etc to certain things?

Yeah basically i need to know how to properly configure this thing.

-To use the keyboard part ive just been clicking "snare" (for example) and then play the keyboard, is that all its used for? just playing a sound and each key obviously has a different note of the same sound?

-Is there a way to make the keyboard act more like a normal piano or stand alone keyboard, so i can do melodies ?

Any advice is really appreciated, This is very hard :(.

Please help.

The FL Studio setup file on the Enigma Group works. You need to make sure you SYS on the Axiom's display when you send the file. Then recall preset 2, then recall preset 1 to make sure all the settings are recalled. Also, make sure all groups are active (A,B,C,D) when recalling.

The text file included with the download explains the setup in FL. Make sure the controller type is the Tascam US428. All of the rest of the knobs/sliders can be used with the "link to controller" function in FL to assign to different things.

The Axiom is juts a MIDI controller, not a stand alone keyboard with sounds. You need to load up a virtual instrument for the Axiom to trigger to generate the different instrument sounds you want.

ya it's different for different software but I was able to get my presets working the same way tech advises, but definitly make sure all groups are selected on display otherwise you might run into weird problems....

for quick assigning stuff, try "right clicking" some stuff and twisting the knob u want to control whateva u just right clicked on. i was gonna tell u to search for a dude name Techknowledgy, but he was the first one to answer, i'd click his name and search all posts by him. he got knowledge, hence the name. looks like you've got a lot to learn, you should start with the manual. if you have questions on anything in FL, just click F1 and it will bring up the help menu for that particular item. like if u have the sytrus open and hit F1, it takes you right to the sytrus page so you can read up on it. hope that helps.

Techknowlegy: Thanks for the reply. can you add me to msn please so this is easier : Kurupt_soul_@hotmail.com

I work in I.T so it shouldnt be hard to explain it to me.

I finally found the axiom 61 setup on enigma group for fruity loops, ive done as the instructions say set it up to tascan etc but the play, stop, rewind, forward, record buttons dont work, they were all mixed up like play would fast forward, stop would play etc.

But now there not working at all :S

To load the XML file, In the enigma software i went file then LOAD and choose the XML file that i download, i then sent it to my axiom and the screen said SYS, you then say to recall im not sure how but what i did was pressed recall then went to P02 then waited then went to P01 and waited.

Does that mean that there saved now?

Because the play buttons etc still dont work.

And also in fruity loops how do i add more of those bar things so my loop is alot longer then a few seconds, its still set to default settings so i cant make a long song as it loops back to start every few seconds.

How do i assign an instrument to the keyboard? When i click on a sound then play the keyboard it plays the sound and has a different tone for each key, is that what you mean by assigning an instrument to the keyboard?

Is there a way to make the keyboard part sound like a piano?
