FL Studio: Track stops when recording

Hi FP,

I want to record some synth over my track, so I loaded up my midi controller and got ready to record.
I pressed the record mode and listened to my song until the part where I had to play the synth came. When I pressed a key on my midi controller, the rest of the music stopped, and I had no backing track to support me. When I was done recording, it obviously sounded wrong, and I deleted it.
My question is, how do I stop FL from fading the backing track when I'm recording?

Sincerely,
FrosZ.

R u recording it in the playlist? I mean is the pattern that ur recording on in the playlist?

Damn, i dont know then. Ive never had that issue myself, but what i would do is search fl studio midi setup on youtube, and see what theyre doin differently.

But if it helps any, the way i do it is i line up a blank pattern (wit (--) amount of steps) where i want my synth to be, hit that rec button and start playin when it gets there.
