FL studio pattern question

Say i want to cut one of my patterns short, or put a break in the middle for like a transition effect like cut it a bar or two short have a patterne with a echoey snare play, then the next part....does that make sense?

How do i do this in fl studio? is the only way to create a new pattern that sounds how i want it to?

do you mean you want pattern A to play 4 bars....then you want the same pattern but only play 2 bars in, so that a new pattern can begin?

no, i pretty much figured it out, just did it the hard way. heres what i meant. mid grade - YouTube

its how that one part starts before the "drop". i just recorded over the pattern and at the end turned the cutoff on the to make it stop

You can just copy the pattern and make changes to the one you copied..
