For example, if I set my Markers in Edison to a perfect 1 bar loop containing 4 beats, is it possible to duplicate the exact LENGTH of this loop and shift it over to create a perfectly matching second loop and so on?

Yeah, of course you can do that. You can either drag/copy the loop to the playlist or the pattern selector and fix it form there. Or if you just want a section from your sample in edison, all you have to do is delete the parts you don't need, and then you drag/copy it to playlist or pattern selector.

I think u guys have misunderstood the question. I dont use Edison but im pretty sure the op means he wants to highlight a section of a sample, and take the actual highlight marker and move it over to another part of the song hes sampling so he can chop out another sample exactly the same length as the first, kinda like using a cookie cutter to stamp out exactly the same length every time, but i might be wrong. In Audacity the way i do this is i use the Time Shift tool to move the waveform left and right and it keeps my selection marker the same, maybe try looking for that in Edison, the button looks like this in Audacity "<->".

Oh I see. I don't know anyway to copy markers from Edison. You're right, I use audacity too and the time shift tool can do that.
