Welcome to FutureProducers.com!
 :hello:

I am not sure if a lot of people around here use PARIS, because it is quite an expensive system to have, am I right?

hey hope to see you around.
take care

expensive, yes, worth it, absolutely...

it's expensive, but if you put it next to pro tools, it's price is amazing. we purchased our system for roughly $17k, this was for 32 tracks of full digital recording. you have to get a computer with lots of disk space. Since hard drives are so inexpensive these days, you get removable 60GB drives and go to town. if anyone is considering the pro tools or any other DAW's, look at the Paris before you plunk down 25-30 grand for Pro Tools.

I see yes.

Is it as good a s a full pro tools with all the toppings you think?

The TDM system is now being supported by quite a few developpers (Access's Virus B is now available as a TDM plugin etc..).

I am very interested by all of this, but I am just using a Pulsar II DSP card for my recording. I am too busy to really do much music production anyway these days hehe :)

hit me back.
taek care

oh yeah....

i'd say the Pro Tools system wins a lot of cool points that the Paris might miss, but man, you can't beat what you get for the price. i can't give all the specs, i just use it at this point. Lots of really clean reverb, good smooth compression, a GUI that is very easy to use and very good automation editing capabilities. no complaints from this department

as far as plugins go....i haven't gotten that far yet, but i'll let you know when i do. this isn't a full time job for me so my head isn't fully into this system 24 hours a day. :)

Hummmmmm ....$17,000 for 32 tracks of HD recording? You could Buy a Mac G4 with 2 MOTU 2408 systems installed (48 physical tracks), a couple of Lexicon PCM80/90s and still come in under $10,000....

i don't see how you can pull all that off for under 10k, HOWEVER, that's just my speculation, i wouldn't know for sure. i'm not a mac person, and neither are the guys i work with so that was another reason we went for the emu system. personally, i'm really happy with it. it's smooth, clean, easy to get in and out of (once you figure it out of course) and really very stable.
