got it in the mail today, from turntablelab. great service.

this mixer rules! a HUGE step up from my borrowed peavey P.O.S.

it has a ton of features. i'm glad i didn't get the smac pro40, this has enough stuff on it!!

headphone amp is REALLY LOUD like they say, the fader is nice and smooth, and the curve adjustment is a very very nice feature to have... and i especially like the cutouts for instant drop of bass/mid/treble without messing with knobs... the color is a little lighter than i thought. the pictures online make it look black.. but it's actually a dark navy blue with olive green accents. very handsome. comfortable to use, sounds AMAZING compared to the peavey (not a surprise though)

i am 100% satisfied :D

i agree

this mixer is great...

i've had mine for 6 months now and love as it as much as the day it arrived... solid construction, high quality faders and very nice sound....

my on;y complaint is i didn't get a sticker and a friend of mine did....

stickers are cool

My whine on Eclers: using a Pioneer in the club after using my Ecler is annoying, I have to hit an extra button to hear the mix after turning off PFL

Other than that, I'm still loving mine after 6 months. Its been in use at several outdoor psy parties, gotten dirty, dusty, knocked around, and its still going as good as new.

Tip: Paint the PFL switches with a metallic nail polish for easier mixing in the dark.

Great idea, madmonkey! On my old PS-676, there were little circular divots that signified "12 o'clock" on all the EQ knobs. I filled that in with glow-in-the-dark glue and it glows like crazy under blacklight. Mix in any kind of light conditions, provided there's a bit of blacklight around...

glow in the dark glue? who makes it and where did you find it? I need some of that. We've always got tons of blacklights for the fluoro art :)

Mad, can you elaborate on this? Can you hear the mix out on the Ecler through your headphones when all PFLs are off? (without the split switch on). I can't on my SMAC 40...

On my SMAC 30, if all PFL's are turned off, the main mix is on the headphones in stereo. The Smac-40 has split cue more like a pioneer mixer I think.

Its so damn convenient to flick both PFL's on for close matching, work the incoming track's eq a little, then knock both pfl's off at once and mix the new track in. On the pioneer djm-500, I have to find another button which isn't lit up to hear my mix. Oh yeah, I forgot to mention, I don't use a booth monitor, just leave the headphones on all the time for clear sound :)

I've got an smac 20 and 40 (thanks to my friend, vtamnp) and i love them both...I've gone through at least 9-10 mixers before having these eclers...and have had hours and hours on pioneer mixers....I take my ecler over them all...

i dunno. just lookin at the layout of an smac40 it is just way tooo busy- especially by where a lot of the mixing action takes place.

compared to any other mixer designed for non-scratch use, i'd say the busy layout is very common. scratch mixers, it seems, make sure that the fader has nothing in the way. if you want to use the ecler or the pioneer 600 for scratching, you've got the wrong idea.

I've been dying to get a smac 30. From what i hear bout these mixers it seems like it was made by god. Can it really be this good?:victory:

Yes, I can say that I was completely delighted to see that the PRO-40 [which if I got a SMAC, it'd be the 40] had that split-cue, which is one thing about my Pioneer that'd I've grown to love and appreciate more and more after every time spinning on something different. I was dreading having to learn to live without that if I bought something else. Mad points for the Ecler in it's battle with my other options.
