Hello, and thanks for reading. My first post on this great website.

I just purchased an E-mu esi-2000 sampler. Also bought an NEC Multispin 4xe cd scsi drive and an Adaptec 2940 UW scsi pci card to goto into my computer running XP.

Are there any other esi users out there that can give me any hints, advice, tricks on using this sampler?

Where do you go to get sample floppies? CD's, zip disks?

Is it good to get a used ZIP drive off eBay?

I know...lots of questions, but I have never used a sampler before and it all seems quite complicated!

I was going to purchase an Ensoniq EPS sampler, but I won this auction instead...I hope not to regret it!

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,
Brian

There is a program called EsiWin that you can use to create your own Emu CD-Roms etc, but if you don't like rolling your own the other option is to hunt around online for sample CDs.

SCSI Zip disk drives are cheap and quite useful but keep in mind that having a big pile of CDs is far cheaper than having a big pile of Zip disks.

Yeah, I downloaded that program. I just received the scsi cd drive today...now just waiting for the scsi cables.
Thanks for your reply.
