Dumb luck in mastering got me 100k plays, how do I do it again?

Hey all!

This past year I've went from making songs which got 300-400 plays max to getting in the thousands regularly. Where I'd like to believe it's because I've gotten better at making music I somehow doubt it lol. A remix I posted over the summer is currently sitting at 85,000 plays, later tracks are around 10k and 5k respectively.

The thing is--I have no idea what's difference between any of these. I'm currently working on a new track which I believe to be some of the best work I have, I was curious if you would be able to give me any insight into its sound and if it could replicate the success of my previous track.

Are you for certain that it's the mastering that's getting yo plays? What do you statics say on soundcloud?
 
I can tell you 1st hand it is absolutely NOT the sound quality of your music but the songs are catchy on their own. Are you purposely aiming for a lo fi distorted sound? Just curious
