Drake Type beat "Simplicity" F4F

this makes you wanna light up a doobie and chill with it!! yea nice one, very simple but fine indeed.. could add some more elements, for an example a chilled out distorted electric guitar would definatly take this beat a couple of levels higher..
at a certain point you feel this beat is kinda lacking something and start to sound "empty".. definatly some elements (instruments, effects) will fill the blank and I know you probably intented to make this a simple, kinda laid back type of beat but even the smallest, little elements could give it more "life"
the thing that I liked the most tho is the hihat..the other drums are okay, that reversed sounds are nice too
overall 6.7/10 with a little more work this could definatly rock

Greetings.

Nice work. I like the simplicity of this, and the main synth is interesting. This is balancing, because it seems empty at times, but the emptiness supplies a type of "bliss" to me. Adding more elements could make it better, or crush the bliss. Keep it going. I'd like to see you indulge in this feel more.

Accomplished programming. I am no authority on contemporary beat styles but I recognize decent sound selection. The use of reverse is particularly strong and there is actually a nice little melody going on. Am I right in thinking there's no bassline as such, other than the detuned kick? If so it's quite an effective use of space. Would be interested to see what a thoughtful MC could do over this.
