Does a Zoom Sampletrak st 224 have any useful features an mpc 2000xl doesnt have???

I'm buyin an mpc 2000xl, but do ya'll think that getting a zoom sampletrak is not needed if you have an mpc 2000xl??

Because I wanna get both but is it stupid to get the zoom??

Need Suggestions, Holla back!!!

I dont know about gettin both, but I dolove that ZOOM. Ive been huntin for one on ebay lately. If your already comfortable with the ZOOM then get it cause it aint that much money and its a lot of fun.

The Zoom is more about twisting knobs, and tweaking samples into something otherworldly.
Ofcouse sequencing is much more advanced in the mpc,but for sample mangling, and filters the zoom wins.
I owned both at the same time for a couple of years.
I have no problem creating an entire beat on the zoom all by itself, and it's actually much easier to chop samples with than on the mpc.
Also the sampletrak is very gritty, and punchy at the midgrade samplerate of 16khz.At 32khz it's cleaner though not cd quality, and warmer than an mpc.
The mpc is clean,crisp,and punchy.
The 2000 will not color you sound.

so, yall suggest that the zoom sampletrak has some stuff that the mpc 2000xl doesnt have to offer?

cqrite like what for instance is a big pro for zoom sampletrak?????

its like this homie...think of the zoom as glock 17 aight...but wit only 10 in the clip capicity..(like when they outlawed the hi-capicity clips) n then think of the mpc as like the glock 18.... feel me.. u know i'm say9in..the glock 18 is ONLY military issue and it got clip can hold 32 in it...plus its FULLY switchabel into full auto aka wit the fliip of a switch u can turn it INTO an uzi style hand gun...

see how that goes?

feel me?

zoom and mpc is both samplers... if u want to make a quick n easy beat cop the zoom(also use it a GOOD a$$ learnin tooL for beat makin).. then LEARN yo a$$ on it..once u get advanced n want to add "more" to ya beats cop the mpc... which will HELP u to take ya beats to the next level at a much easier pace..

they can both pretty much do the same things like mattman sed....but on the mpc its easier n IT can take to the next level..wit much more ease then the zoom...

here's some mo info and beats made ONLY wit zoom st-224

found that on the search at top right of every page... peep..

p.s. also u gon have to keep the memory card thing in check too wit the zoom... 4mb max... let me know how it go homie...

The effects and the ease of use are a big advantage !
However you can use 16MB SmartMedia max.

Yes 16mb smart cards are accepted.
I owned both the mpc2000,and the Sampletrak at the same time, and my beats were NOT better with the mpc.
They were the same maybe but not better.
The Sampletack is infact easier in terms of sample editing, chopping, and asigning to pads, ect.
The mpc is easier in terms of sequencing.
The sampletrak does not have mute groups like the mpc,but the Sampletrak has better filters.

hey mattman since you seem to be such a proponent of the zoom 224 got a question for you.. how the hizzy do you get your beats from the zoom over to cd? or even as wave for that matter..

in my case all i gotz is a zoom 1266 HD dig recorder.. but i don't think it can be done wit that.. i mean i can get access to a pc buts its gon be a regular one, aka the standard sound card wit line in's and line outs and nothing else..

let me know

peace

Well I use a phillips cdr775 cd recorder.
They seem to sell from 50-175 on ebay.
If you can get one for around 50 I'd say it's a good deal, but I would'nt pay too much.Maybe you can find a cheaper cd recorder from a differant brand?
It worked well for me when I did'nt have a computer with a good soundcard, but even now when I make a beat with the Zoom I just record into the cd recorder.

my dig recorder does not have connects for inputs... only outs.. the pc i can borrow jus has line in and out how then can i do this?
