Ok the first debate topic Jay-Z vs Nas is something that's kinda been discussed alot, but a good topic none the less especially considering everything going on with the two right now. However while coming up with that one I thought of a perhaps similarly intresting one Redman vs Jay-Z I believe they're both from Jersey so it should be a kinda hot topic.

Anyways my vote goes with the Funk Doctah aka reggie noble aka Redman simply because when he's good he's great. I feel he's far more hit or miss than Jay-Z, but his collabo's really make up for that to me because they always seem to be golden. I like Funk Doc's flow more and grimy lyrics. I don't think he's had as much commercial success, but I don't judge based on that nonsense anyway. So let's hear what others think should be intresting.

No it's meant to be a actual debate based on opion and reasoning. It's mostly just out of curiousity I thought it might be a little more intresting than two people that everyone have been debating over for years now.
 
Most people here don't know about Redman or his legacy. Rap for them started with Eminem and Nelly. Right around 1997.

Redman is great. He always shows his ass on every single track. I mean he went toe to toe with Eminem on that one track that they did together. How many people can say that they matched Eminem rhyme for rhyme on a track?

Not even JAY can say that. :)
 
Jay-Z. > Redman based on documentation and public fanbase being overwhelming proof.

But personally I know every song from Redman's 1st 4 albums by heart(and i usually don't listen to albums more than 3 or 4 times), and him and Canibus are the only rappers who's lyrics ever really impressed/inspired me to better my craft.
 
I can’t relate to Jay’s millionaire lifestyle flow plus Red has more imagination and skill.

Redman is better in my book.
 
Redman before he started hookin up with Method. And Jay-Z ever since.

Yeah Redman one of my fav rappers, his lyrics are crazy, always makes me laugh. I would put him above Jay Z. Never been a HUGE fan of Jay, i mean, he dope as hell, def in my top 10, but i don't love him like most dudes on this site do.

the only person on this site that doesnt get a lot of hate is timberland. i dont understand why though. i mean he is dope but why is he the only one that doesnt get hated on in here?
 
Timbaland is everything and both of best worlds to any HIP HOP HEAD.

I aint hatin Jay, i said in my post, i think he one of the best. I personally would just put Redman ahead of him, i can get bored of Jay quite easily.

I dont know if that was aimed at me deranged lol, but thats my opinion anyway.

Not you in particular, just the whole mood of FP. Lemme guess, you guys are all part of the 100,000s who buy Red's albums instead of the millions to buy Jay's? How many of you can list 5 tracks off a redman album? If you ginuinely believe red is better than jay, cool, but I'm willing to bet some of these dudes screaming Red better don't really mean it, they just can't allow themselves to say Jay.

Some people act like they live this, but if red was really better, why was everyone always telling me I was lame for loving all his sh** while they bumped Hard Knock 2.
