actually, Interscope signed Death Row in 1992. Interscope signed them with Warner Bros., just like Shady is signed to Aftermath and Interscope. when C. Dolores Tucker started raising a stink with Warner Bros., WB sold it's remaining interest in Death Row to Interscope.
Harry O fronted Godfather Entertainment, and Death Row was a conglomerate. he basically gave them the money to record tracks like Deep Cover, The Chronic, and sign Snoop, Jewel, Nate, and the Dogg Pound. but nobody got any money until Suge and Dre signed Death Row to Interscope/Warner Bros. by that time, the Chronic was finished and ready for press.
Suge bought out Harry O in '96 or '97, brokered out of his deal with Interscope, and he's now going through some smaller distributor. and he has complete ownership of anything that says Death Row on it.
