What in the world is CMS?

CMS stands for Content Management System and is a website management platform for storing and organizing your websites information. For a deeper understanding, check out this video following this paragraph. CMS websites are powerful and used by small, medium, and large businesses alike. They store as much information as your hosting servers can with stand, which is perfect for SEO, Search Engine Optimization. You can get a CMS for free, however, hosting servers are required and can be found for about $4.50 per month. On the other hand, these systems can have a steep learning curve for most.



Soundclick is a social media platform for music enthusiast, bands, and record labels. They offer VIP membership accounts so you can customize your profile layout at a cost of about $10 per month. I believe this secures your domain name but you'll need to do your own research to be certain. Soundclick is probably the most popular social network known to producers. Bands also make their livings using this platform. The learning curve for soundclick isn't as steep, however, this simplicity has a higher start up and monthly price.

So which is better?
- getting more for less.
- simplicity is priceless.

I have to say cms... I just started a website using cms and I can say it's way...way...better than soundclick..you can do much...much..much more...
but most ppl just want to sell a beat or two.. they don't want to run a REAL business..
what I means...they don't do business research ...they don't network...they don't have a stragety in place to grow..neither a business plan...
 
Idk if u start with cms jus like any other site u would have to build but i believe it would be better then sc because i swear if i started with this i would market of to so many thing an connect it bac to this site an i would be caked up !! U kno want thats what am going to do haha!
But with sc its major traffic all ready but its only so much u can do but with sc its just a get $ fast type thing but havein both would be the shit!!! then connect them sc producers going to call u a cheater lol

if you want to start a joomla aka cms site I got a guy that will get you started but I have to run it pass him before I give out his name and info...
 
Get a wordpress blog/CMS and focus on SEO/Networking. Soundclick is a waste of time, IMO. I sell more beats direct from my site than Soundclick, etc. Facebook is great networking too, but be prepared to meet some really whack people, ala Myspace. So create a band/business page.
