I have a couple folders full of .syx files. How do I convert these to .wav files?

whoa....Syx files?....
those are "System Exclusive" files for MIDI. they are mainly used for midi sequencing programs.
all they do is basically tell the sequencing programs exactly wat type of hardware it will be using and enables keyboards to function properly on the sequencer program. they contain no music whatsoever, just information.

it's a common mistake made by people working on keyboard workstations to think that these files can work independant of the workstation or can be opened by another application on their pc simply because of the myth "i can convert the file so why cant it turn into a wav.?" those guys with the tritons that have cd/rw make the same initial mistake very often.

They were given to me on CD by one of my friends who produces (www.batkaverecordings.com). He had them in a "Sounds" folder and they're all named with instrument names: BASS, CLAP, HIHAT, etc...thas what made me think they were audio.

What are there file sizes?
If they are above 10kb, they may be actual wav files... but with a funky extension.
Try renaming the extension to .wav instead of .syx and see if that works. But make sure u uncheck "hide extensions for known file types. (My Computer > Tools > Folder Options > View > uncheck "hide extensions for known file types")
