I wrote down a couple melodies just now(Ive read 24 of 200 pages of Teach Yourself Piano and have figured out how to write music). So I have a couple questions

What is the Middle C?C5?
What is a 1/4 note?In the Box where u have 3 other boxes to create a length what do you do?(and what would be all other notes?)
How Do I set a Tempo?
Once I have the 3 questions above answered will I be able to start?

Is there any software program where you can put notes on a virtual sheet and convert it to midi?

Some basic notation info (you can just disregard of the guitar-specific parts). That should cover the basics of note lenghts.

The "middle C" is simply the middle C of a standard piano, also referred to as C3. C5 would be two octaves up from here.

I don't know about FL at all, so someone else can probably answer those related to it.

Google for 'notation software'. Sibelius is one of the best ones available (not exactly cheap though).

wouldnt C5 in FL Studio be the Middle C because theres C1-C10.

Imreading upon then notation stuff ritenow

To find out how to set a tempo, check the FL manual.

Btw, there is a program which lets you convert sheet music to midi. It's called Sibelius.

I know how to set a tempo in FL but how would I come up with one if I just wrote a melod...nevermind when writing this I figured it out, I guess Illjust haveto set out tempos un til they work.

By The Way on the keys of my keybopard i marked abcdefg oneach one and from the middle C theres 16 to the right and 19 to the left, I have a 61 Key keboard is this the same how it is for you?

how much does siblieus cost by the way, couldnt find an exact answer on their site.

u can do it with guitar pro too... and i think theres a free program similar to guitar pro and im sure it will do the conversion to midi as well (yes its called guitar but u can use it for anything) try searching in google

I'm not 100% sure, but I think the whole term refers to a piano, not the middle of a keyrange like that. So middle C would always be C3, for clarity's sake.

Sibelius cost something like $900.

Hi there,

There are many audio-to-MIDI converters to choose from at a wide spectrum of prices. You can try out the IntelliScore Ensemble Audio to MIDI Converter, for free. Though it will only convert the first 15 seconds of a song when in trial mode, it allows you to save the converted MIDI file. Many free trials have limitations such as this one, though some allow you to convert the full song, but do not come with a save option.
