I just download load audacity and im dont feel like reading tutorials on the website(im being lazy). I wanted to know how do load your sample, and chop your sample, and also can u send your chopped sample to reason, and how?

use your mouse to select a piece of the sample when it is loaded up (file - open), you can save it by exporting the selection as a .wav file (file - export selection as .wav)

that's it, i feel so slow. i'm go check that out right now, thanks for the reply.

while we're on this topic.. how du u get sumthing to played looped in audacity?

anyone know how to adjust the speed of a sample on audacity

effects...
tempo for no pitch change
pitch for pitch change
speed for both

to loop what u have selected, hold shift and press spacebar...

I exported a selection and when I went to load it in the NNXT, it didn't recognize the file...are you sure Reason is compatible with wav files?

yeah reason is compatible with wav files, I use audacity all the time all you have to do is export the selection and then make sure you load the sample in the NNXT where it says load sample and not on the top patch.

Do you have Recycle? I just figured out how to do it using Audacity but I heard it was easier on Recycle. I just switched over from an MPC and it was a very laborous task.

Recycle is a lot easer, you just load up the sample (Recycle doesn't record) you set your slices and export 1 Rex file with all your chops and then you can load the Rex file into the NN-XT and Dr. Rex.

250USD is asking a lot though just for chopping some stuff up but if it fits your workflow its priceless.

I am a teacher so I get the academic version for $99.00 which according to several sources is exactly the same as the standard version. I have been chopping in Audacity for the last two days and it's okay, but again the work flow is disruptive.

Do they have AUDACITY for Vista as well?

any other programs like AUDACITY for Vista (Free) out there?

I mean I downloaded it and it said for "XP or later" but I actually bought a USB turntable that had the free version with it automatically as well. But the free version online will work for vista. I have FreeRip that converts audio file formats and I saved it on my external HD when I had XP and it worked on Vista. I also have MixMeister (analyzes your bpm) running on Vista too

just download the newest version and it will work for Vista with no extra driver downloads necessary

Great I will download it now.

Hold up! Recycle? I can chop samples better in Recycle? Can I just load them into FL Studio as well?

so you're too lazy to read a tutorial, but yet you'll read through a forum and have to decipher the good advice from the bad advice?
Something wrong with youtube or the like?

If your ass is too lazy to READ, then i am too lazy to help your lazy ass. Audacity is like the easiest ****ing program out.
