Chilled / Tropical House Percussion

Just starting out producing with Ableton live. Love artists such as Thomas Jack FlicFlac Kygo Etc. but am struggling with regards to the different elements of percussion which they use in their songs. Was wondering whether they use sample packs with good shakers and bongos etc specifically for these types of tracks, Or whether they simply record their own samples?


Would love to know if there are any tutorials on youtube on creating percussion patterns similar to something like this:

Experiment with different things, man. I produce drum and bass, and as a genre it relies on good usage of percussion as well. I found out that pre-made percussion loops don't quite suit my needs, so I went the hard way, and got individual hits on some percussion instruments to make my own. I'm working on a track right now that has a percussion line with tablas, for example.
