Big to studio to succeed?q

you do need to hand over the recorded songs over to a professional audio mix engineer then hand that to a professional audio mastering engineer
I'm 99.9% sure that what they did to get their final result
polished and loud!!!!!!!!!

Sub pretty much all that's been said I like having a ton of gear/big recording room but honestly I only use about 20% of the stuff in it now as almost everything is done in the box. I still have several tape setups ready to go if people want to record on them before it hits the daw.

I think its easier now to fix a bad recording and produce a much better mix and master with minimal gear and space but if you want to make it like the pros stay in the home studio just pass it off to the right people for mixing/mastering.
