My list

Best guitar riff: Focus - Hocus Pocus



Best guitar solo: Michael Jackson - Beat It (3:10 to 3:40)



Best keyboard riff: Europe - The Final Countdown



Best keyboard solo: Elton John - Nikita (3:07 to 3:50)

 
I love Slash. This is my fave of his riffs.



Always got a great feeling from this riff, too. A classic.

For solos um srv, Jimi ,Santana

I'd have to think about guitar riffs, there's so damn many that I like!

As a guitarist, I would have to say Whole Lotta Love- Led Zeppelin.

Jimmy Page was a riff maestro, so many good ones.

What we have sown by Pineapple thief - 30 minutes of pure prog with a eye squelching solo.
 
Oh yeah... I forgot Du Hast by Rammstein... they're a closer second for "best riff of our generation" in my opinion.
 
Even though theres two guitar players playing it i still think it counts as a solo
