Beats Mixtapes? Questions

Ok so I have a bunch of beats (unreleased) that I want to release as a beats mixtape.

Questions

1. Release it free. Pros & Cons (lease agreement still applies)

2. Release as paid for about $9.99 for 10 - 12 beats

These will be all in MP3 only.

Should I leave a tag in there with the paid route?

Any other suggestions from those who did this before are welcome.

The goal is really for promotion. The free route I will do the email sign-up "bribe".

The genre I will be releasing is "Dirty South R&B".
 
Release it for free, let the people have it.
you'll get more promotion than trying to pay it. Cardiak just released all his placement instrumentals for free on his website

so for you to charge people for a beat CD in 2012 is kinda pointless

Keep tags, but dont overtag it. Just in good spots where they cant just loop your tag out of it. Whats the difference between that and east coast or west coast r&b?

Release a sampler for free (tagged) - sell the full length beats online. Offer free beats on lease to those that sign up to your mailing list.
