I have no Idea what happened. I was using my Creative live card for playing midi and stuff, and then I rebooted my pc and I can't acheive any sounds from my motherboard side (eg the sound plays when I play a cd, seperate cord) what could cause a sound card to die?

Nm, theres something called a mute option. I get the tard award for the day....

I'd open up the computer and check all the connections... push all the cables in and the sound card in, just to make sure it's all in there good. That happened to me once.
hope it helps

well my printer has gone h*m* doesn't get detected on LTP2

Ade, try deleting and re-adding the drivers. When you install the printer make sure you specify lpt2. If the message your getting is "error writing to lpt2" then you could have a number of things wrong.
Check/clean ink cartridge
make sure their is paper
Try reseeding the cord into the lpt bay.

Hope this helps.

man did all that, it was something funny with this new motherboard it wont accept my ISA parallel card, i've tried playing with the bios and no go, i got it working through the onboard parallel after i took out the ISA card, this motherboard has been a b*stard to configure, first my floppy wouldn't work and now the printer, i just hope the SCSI CD-RW i am going to to put will work

Nosferatu...

You can probably help me out: I've got my DX7 output going into my input of my S/B Live, but I notice that when I hit a key on yjr synth, you can hear a little bit of interference mixed in with the sound from the synth. I've tried both output and headphone jacks to run my line from, but it has the same interference. Do you know how to get rid of that? Also, do you know how/if I can access my DX7's patches with somthing on my pc? (eg. creative synth or somthing similar)I just want to get single hits so I can use them to wright loops with madtracker.
(BTW, I'm using Sound Forge 4.5 ** full version ** to record with)
Thanks dude.

Crispy u need a sequencer and to turn the local midi connection of on the keyboard that way the sequencer controls the keyboard sounds :)

typo :( turn the OFF local midi connection, i hope u see this Crispy

Heh, ya I saw it. ;) I just got home, so I'll give it a shot. :)
Another question: What is the best way to get non-midi samples into a clean, noiseless wav sample? Like I said, I'm using the 1/8" input into my S/B Live, and recording through Sound Forge 4.5. It's a hi quality progie, so surely it can't be the fault of Sound Forge alone. I made the 1/4" to 1/8" jack myself, (I've done this many times without any problems) but I will try buying a hi-quality gold platted job to see if that helps.
Any software recomendations as far as recording, or is Sound Forge suitable? :) Thanks dude.
