Akai S3000xl problems...

Hi everyone,

I've just bought an Akai S3000xl on ebay. When I switch it on, light up and react to me pressing them, but there is absolutely nothing on the display. I'm hoping optimistically that I am missing some vital step, but I'm pretty sure it should show something on the screen... is it broken? If so, how easy is it to replace?

Check the display contrast knob.

Ah yes, I just pressed the contrast switch in and it switched it on....
