Whats up guys

I currently have the AKAI MPK49 MIDI controller, and I am less than impressed with the pads on it, so I am looking for something a little better. Has anyone used the AKAI MPD24? How is the pad sensitivity/quality compared to their higher end MPC's like the MPC2000

They are a step above the mpk but also a step below the mpc series .but very workable

imo......akai finally got it right with the mpd 26. The pads on that controller are nice.

i own the 24 they could be a little more sensitive, but i work it out.

i have an mpk25 and the pads SUCK...i agree

i also have an mpd18 and they are far far better then the mpk pads. i also have an mpc 2000xl and none of those pads even come close to the actual mpc pads...lol

but yeah mpd pads are far better then the mpk pads!

i have the mpd24..pads are great but personally i like them to be alil more sensitive ..thinking bout goin to this website and getting my pads replaced...mpcstuff.com..

Yeah the best way to make the pads sensitive is to use 4 cut pieces of electrical tape in each of the pad sections or go buy the material they provide for the pads that basicaly is like the same method as the 4pc tape in each pad I think it only cost around 10 - 20 and I can tell you 1st hand it improves the pad response by 100%. This is not about being cheap or trying to solve a problem the lazy way, top producers been using this way for years to get their pads more sensitive and some don't even know because they take it to shops to get it professionally done and by professionally I mean adding extra material under the pads.

It's cheap, It's easy and It's full proof... if you ever added a new HDD to your PC or gaming system it should be a piece of cake.
