AFAIK the only way you can connect is via MIDI cables.

Sorry to jump in. I'm looking for a keyboard just to trigger sounds from VST's and Reason 3.0 sound bank. I'm taking any recommendations, thanks in advance.
I was looking at NanoKey & LPK25. They would hook up to the PC via USB and sync via midi with my audio interface. I'm in the ballpark right?

M-Audio keyboards are good. I'm about to get the akai mpk61. I've never really owned an mpc so I'm not sure how much of an mpc it really is but I read that it is basically an mpc500 and a keyboard. You could sell the 1000 and get an akai mpk but its up to you and if you really use everything that the 1000 brings. Also a lot of stuff is turning digitally now as well

Thanks, I'm going to get the LPK25 first to see how it integrates into my setup. If it's too small then i'll get keep it as a backup.
