Hey Ableton peeps,
I've been testing out several of Ableton 9's features & sharing my thoughts through posts & video.
Here are my experiments with the Glue Compressor. I wasn't disappointed at all.

Ableton 9 Experiment 2:
Glue Compressor
In this post I wanted to get you a well rounded view of how the Glue compressor works on different instruments and whole mixes. I created a chained group of most of the Glue compressor presets so I could easily switch through them while listened to the results.
Some of the processing is minimal, or at least not easily noticeable, while others presets make a very noticeable & pleasing difference. I can safely say that this effect only stands to improve your sound overall. It definitely has it’s own character & helps things sound punchier, phatter and harder (but in a really clean way).
I was almost pleased with the Glue Compressor over the whole mix as I was on the individual sounds. It’s certainly easier to notice on sounds with clear transients (quick attack), but it can certainly thicken pads and atmospherics as well.
Overall, I think this is definitely something worth getting excited about.
Check out the video below & put on your best pair of headphones:
