40's Rewind / Reverse Effect

Anyone know how to replicate that rewind / backwards / reverse effect that 40 has been using on Drake songs? Go to like 3:30 on the song below. It's that effect where some sounds are reversed yet still in time with everything else. He did it a bunch on the Nothing Was The Same album.

All he is doing is reversing sounds and mixing it in with the song. It gives the fx like it's being reversed. If that makes sense?
 
Yeah, I'm not sure if there's anything else going on - obviously if you reverse sounds like that, you'll have to re-align them timing wise so they'll sound right. Sometimes you'll want to have the transient on the beat, and sometimes...well, maybe not exactly. It'll also largely depend on the sounds you're gonna be reversing.
