I've been looking to upgrade my current gear for some time now, was waiting on the release of this new Mar Pro but now that they've revealed disappointing specs, I'm uncertain. Currently I mix and record on my MacBook Pro (using software such as Ableton Live, ProTools, Cubase) but really want to upgrade to a desktop, whether it be MAC or PC, doesn't matter I just want a good, pro system.
I'm interested to hear opinions, do you think the 2013 Mac Pro for pro audio is a giant waste of money? If you think that Audio Pro users loose a lot with the 2013 MP compared to the current Mac Pros, I would love to hear various opinions on some of the better computer options currently available on the market, the more specific the better - PC's included, am interested in PC route as I wouldn't mind finally getting my hands on Fruityloops.
I'm hesitant to go the Hackintosh route as I am a total n00b in that respect.
I would love to hear any advice and suggestions.
