:hmmm:....using an Akai S3000xl,25 note MIDI controller,Zoom 1204 FX unit and a little Behringer desk, sequencing with an old Cubase and recording the mix to audio CDR before ripping to WAV to upload. Doing the whole lot through a pair of AKG K77s and it sounds ok through the 'phones socket of the sampler but by the time it's up uploaded it's not got much body left. I am a bit long in the tooth to learn too many new tricks, very limited on time and resources but enjoy making beats as a hobby. I am amazed at what young cats can do with a laptop and a DAW - anyone out there suggest how I could improve the sound of my productions with what I have? All feed returned with 100% sincerity.

That sample is beautiful dawg
Idk if the drums really fit it but the sampling's not bad. You could add a nice bassline to it also. Not bad so far, keep working!

Can you do me a favor & check out my submission for Pusha T's producer contest? Any feedback will be helpful & if you can favorite the track that would be great, thanks!

Thanks mate, The drum work ain't my best for certain - just five one shot samples played on akeyboard - so you're right on that I reckon!

I'm far from qualified to appraise the composition of your contest submission, but even with my limited knowledge of the genre I would say it bounces pretty raw. Shove some dirty jungle sub-bass under it and it would be n-a-s-t-y! Keep grindin'

Digging the track man, but I too think the RJD2/DJ Shadow drums are a bit much and heavy for this track. A mellow bass would have been a nice addition. Love the sample though, the track has something bro, nice one!
