Were you able to find parts of the sample that were drum free to make the first beat?

If no, how can you get your chops to play without the original drums killing it?

I'd like to know this too, since I use FL and the mpd24 myself.

im sure there are easier and effective ways to do it, but too lazy to explore it since the way im doing is just fine with me though i feel it's time comsuming lol

i just load up a sample with edison, highlight parts i feel, then
i drag em to individual pad
