Phased RnB Drum Kit in style of The Dream/Prince?

I am interested in phased rnb drum kits in the style of The Dream/Prince. If such drum kit does not exist, does anyone know which effect that is used?

The Dream - Kelly's 12 play

It has to with phase and VSO'n a tape machine. Prince used a Linn, LM-1, Sequential Drumtracks. and possibly a Oberhiem DX for drum machines. The slowed tape effect is used in songs like "Beautiful Ones" and a lot of Los Da Mystro's songs. I'm rampling, but you can find sample kits from these machines by using Google..and get ya desired effect, with some tweaking.

I'm a complete beginner when it comes to production but those drums sound really nice. Could you knock together a tutorial/making of cos it sounds superb. Keep it up.
