Getting synths to....

How does Timbo get his synths to do that effect like on justin timberlake "My Love" and "The way I Are". Is that an effect on a VST or what? I heard its called and LFO, but I have had no luck...any comments...

It can be an LFO, it can be arppeggiated, it can be a gate. Vanguard (VST) has a preset that has that same exact sound. I think it has a gate on it. You can even use automation to get that sound. It all depends on what you are working on.

commonly called a trance gate. search for free trancegate plugins. i use one called BTS stereo chopper. works really well.

Thanks. Any good synths for fl studio? I mostly sample and I'm just getting into non-sampled beats...chord progressions and all that r kinda new to me.

FM8 is not your average synth to program
I got 14k presets from somewhere, i think i found it using filestube

You don't even really need to use a trancegate. Two eighth notes followed by a half-note will do it. As far as other stuff used there, there is flangers all that other fun stuff.
