Which Win OS?

I use LAP5 with Kontakt, AbSynth and LoungeLizard.
I have AMD XP 1800 +, 768 MB RAM and M-Audio Audiophile.
I will not use the PC for games and s**t.
What Windows OS should I use?

Why have "pro" if you don't need complete digital media support , remote access, greater security inclusing file and folder encryption or multiprocessor support?
 
heheh well you want control over the OS components -so if HOME gives you as much control (which I am not sure), go for it.
 
For Music Production purposes.........

There would be no difference between using HOME or PRO.

PRO has other non-related "extra" purposes...............

you'll be fine either way......... :)
 
I'm leaning toward Badtz's position. I think the list above covers most of the 'extra' features of XP Pro... I believe they're more oriented to network control and security issues (they did hobble the network flexibility pretty heavily in XP Home, which I run...)

XP may have a lot of fun stuff compared to win 2k.
But to get the same controle i XP as win 2k you have to use more text komands ( MS-DOS like). Thats why I don't use XP.
I don't know all those komands. But for sound soft. I don't know. XP may be the best for that anyway.
