recommend a patchbay for a small home studio

Hi,
I am in desperate need of a patchbay, but I don't have a lot of money to spend. I need at least 48-point. Can somebody tell me about what to look for, full/half normalled, balanced connectors, what brands, etc? I would love to spend under $100 for one. Also, is there anything I need to know about patch cables? Thanks for your help.

behringer make good gear thats really nicely priced, they have a patch bay, not sure of what its called, prob ultrapatch pro or something. look them up on he web.
