Hi. Thanks for the interest...
1. The studiophiles are good, although the rerverb in that room is h8uge, due to the tiled floors and large dimensions. The studio is normally in another room, but there's no air conditioning in there, so I moved it to the bedroom for the summer. It'll all go back in a couple of weeks... (I demo'd the SP-8B's and sub in another room, they sound really good
)
2. As for a guitar, anything by Yamaha is usually a safe bet. For electrics, choose a Pacifica, they're fairly good and can be really forgiving to the new player.
An acoustic's always the best way to start though, have a play with a couple in the shop and ask the guy/girl (No sexism here) for advice.
You shouldn't need to spend any more that £100 on the acoustic and £150 on the Pacifica. In my opinion though, try for an electro-acoustic...Will save you having to close-mic a standard acoustic if you want to incorporate that sound in your music. (Might cost a bit more though...
)
Once again, thanks for the interest.
