How is this setup?

I'm making sort of a blend of ambinet and hip-hop, and i;m currently using an XL-7, i going to expand my gear setup and have pretty much settled on getting a motif 6 (not the es) and an Ion (as the demo's i 've heard of these synths are the best i've heard on the market), as the sutff i'm doing is based on synthetic type sounds. both of these synths combined will cost about $15-1700. is this a decent setup, or is there something else i should get with the cash (and i'm not looking at recording equipment at this time)?
 
You mention ambient sounds. they got some new Software Sound Modules like Atmosphere that suppose to be good for that type of music.

On a keyboard level, the Motif would fit in also.
