Front VS Rear Bass Port, Room Size and Acoustics....???

I want to get Genelec 8010's since my room is small. BUT...its rear ported and I have no room treatment. Aaaarrrrggghhhh!!!

Since I have a small room and my room is not treated.....

1. This means I should get front firing bass port monitors vs rear instead right...???

In the case that I due end up treating my room halfway decent or even moderately treated....

2. Could or Should I than go over to rear firing bass port monitors....???

The advantage of rear port is the woof, port noise will be shot out the rear, less distracting.

Don't worry about where the ports are (other than not putting rear ported speakers on a wall).

Whatever you use-- You need to use them in a treated room! Treating your listening/mixing environment properly will have a lasting and positive effect on your mixes.
