I am bumming so hard I don't know what to do . . .
Dummy me bought the M-Audio Quattro because a friend raved about it.
I works well with ACID 4 but won't work consistently with Cool Eidt Pro II
Has anyone experienced this?
I am trying to figure out if the problem is XP, CEP or the Quattro.
I think it's the Quattro and it's crappy drivers.
HERE'S WHAT HAPPENS
Basically, I designate the Quattro as my Recording and Playback device in CEP and it appears to be so.
Then, I try to playback a wav file and the audio comes out of my internal soundcard.
CEP tells me that my Playback and Recording device is now my internal soundcard.
I've tried downloading SP1 from Microsoft, re-installing Quattro drivers, disk defrag, you name it.
I like CEP for audio editing and was counting on using it.
Any advice?
The general consensus here seems to be "USB audio card = no way" & "the Quattro sux"
Coming to feel that way.
What are some other options for PCI card under $300?
About to die here . . .
