Im from North England and want to buy an mpc1000 from AMERICA.

will there be any differences? no comptible issues or anything?

just want to make sure before i go through with this deal.

yeah if thats the only problem then thats fine.

thanks again :D

and don't forget about informal entry customs. i don't know if its the same in your country, but it will be expensive to carry out electronics from one country to another through packages. add shipping, taxes, whatever else. might actually be the same price with what the distributors there are asking for.

shipping is killer.

Yeah you're right. i get taxed so much but im sure the taxation wont be to a point where i would be losing out money.

i'd just arrange it with the seller to mark it as gift and lower the value of the pacakage

thanks.

I do a fair bit of this.

Many items now feature internal transformers that can cope with most voltage inputs.

Lowering the value of your shipment is a possibility but then that can reflect in the insurance also - meaning you will not get the full value of the item if it is damaged. Also not all shippers are willing to do this.

Marking as a 'gift' is no guarantee that you will be charged less. Gifts above a certain value are still subject to hefty surcharges on UK entry.

Of course importing from an EU country sidesteps most of these issues.
