    What lyrics errors sound like nails on the chalkboard to you?

    For me....

    1) rhyming on the weak syllable. Once in a while you can get away with it but normally it sounds, well, WEAK. Ugh.
    2) bad grammar. This can be somewhat subjective (for example, in country I don't expect much).
    3) cliches
    4) overuse or misuse of rhetorical devices
    5) theft, even when accidental

    BTW, I'm not a member of the Grammar Police. As with EVERYTHING in music, there are exceptions to rules!
