Inspired by Dilla -RIP- feed returned

Listening... Everything seems too "clean" for a dilla style beat , the melody is ok but it's kind of everywhere.. even the drums.. There's really no solid pattern an emcee can really "ride over". The arrangement doesn't really "go anywhere" imo. That synth swell is kind of weak for the hook too. It's not bad but not really going anywhere and it's kind of an in between feeling than a rappable beat. Props for the dilla tribute though!

Yea, I see what you were doing here. It wasn't meant to copy Dilla, but a tribute to him. Like Chris Brown + Michael Jackson. Chris wouldn't try to sound like Michael, but like Chris Brown singing MJ's songs. Nice track, I can def fux wit it. Check me out if ya get a chance https://www.futureproducers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=358454 #backtothegrind

Exactly!

nice beat but it could use some more depth. like a heavier bassline or some low end instruments. plus i guess u could use a little less agressive kick to smoothen it out

I like the sound. My friend showed me this. Check it out, its a Dilla tribute, same idea as you.

better than a lot of stuff I hear on here. You need to clean up the mix on this. I would exchange the bell for a different song too.
