Modern break beats?

Seems like the break beat is kind of a lost thing.

Anybody have any?

The only one that comes to mind for me is:

We live in a generation of imitators rather than innovators. It doesn't surprise me that many do not look for new break beats. Hell even that Rihanna break is an Apple Loop. Idk if this Amy Winehouse drum loop is original or from a sample pack but I know I've used it before.

That's like saying why sample at all? For me its about bringing back that old sound personally. As well as the recognition factor. Otherwise I'd say fu*k it just use a multi sampled kit

For me sampling drum breaks is more about getting my hands on new drums.

The whole record is good. I am listening to it right now. Oddly enough its mostly instrumental and I usually dislike music w/o vocals.

Man there are all sorts of dope breaks out there today. Indy rock has some incredible drums to sample! Just gotta dig deeper
