Logic - Automation And Modualtion

Hi,

Quite new to Logic with regard to audio/mastering and want to know how i can utilise the use of automation more effectively when processing audio.

I'm currently mixing down audio tracks that have been generated from my hardware, midi driven gear. In a lot of cases I’ve managed to get everything to sound as tight as possible through spending the time programming the manipulation of midi CC's to get any effects required, but I now want to be able to do that bit further processing of the audio.

Is it possible to modulate audio effects, filters etc in Logic using the automation, it appears I can only control basic parameters of the audio track (Volume, pan etc).... am I missing something?

Also, i have a load of (various fx) plug-ins that I can use in Logic, how can i find out what CC numbers the functions of the plug-in relate to ...?

Most of the stuff could be done in Sound forge with a bit of trial and error, but I’d rather do it all in Logic to make things easier.....

Please keep it simple also, I’m not really a logic user…
Thanks
