drum miking setup?

i have an akg c4000b... i was thinking of getting another, and using the two as twin overheads to make a stereo recording of drums (some distance and angling between them to get the right stereo spread). then i would also record the kick with a akg d112 and center that track.

would this work ok? or should i add in close miking? a sm57 on the snare or something?

generally (depending on the style of music you are recording) a close mic on the kick and snare are optimal. Also, OHs help a lot, especially if you want to have cymbals in your mix ;) or toms for that matter, since you're not close micing them. How many channels/mics do you have? What style of music are you recording for?
