YAMAHA SU200, how is it?

why not go for software for sampling like Sound Forge or Adobe Audition? its easier to edit samples on software in my opinion

To tell you the truth. It all depends on what you wanna do with your samples. I got the SU200 back in the day. It was cool in the beginning, but I found it very limited!

No Velocity pads, and you can't pitch the samples in real-time, just in a certain mode.

But if you just want something to play your samples back, then go ahead a cop it!

But one plus is that it has a Smart Media Card slot. That way you can get you a USB smart Card reader and import them into a audio editing program on your computer! Vice Versa!

Oh yeah it does have that Ribbon Controller pad thing!

If you can get it dirt cheap, go ahead. Don't spend over $150

As a budget sampler it's not exactly in the league with the Zoom sampletrak,Korg es-1,or Boss sp303.
It lacks a sequencer. This is a major drawback if you want to use it by itself.
