"wrong file" on mpc

hey, im working with a mpc 2500 and im trying to load a wav file but it just gives me the message "wrong file"
the wav file is from a kit i got but it wont let me play or load it on the mpc. i can play it on my computer and works fine, hear the beat and everything but my mpc wont let me load or play it. (the entire kit is like this btw- can listen on comp but cant play/load on mpc)

i've looked on google and im getting the feeling that its the os?
is there a way to fix this somehow without changing my os?

Try converting the files and then reloadiing them.

Sometimes the wav file might be a lil funny like maybe they aren't 44.1k or something crazy like that. And the format might be something ya mpc can't read. So try that.

Make sure the filenames are in a format that your mpc can read as well. Like, maybe there's a "/" or a "." in the wrong place, stuff like that.

yeah, i looked in the properties to check the 44.1k and it was 24 bit instead of 16 bit. i think thats what was messing it up. thanx!
