it don matter how old u r if u got the talent.. u might not be able to be marketed as a pop icon or hip hop icon in todays mainstream music world but who cares, mainstream is dying
I actually think there's a huge need within the industry for some grown-up bars.
I've been listening to hip hop a long time. I still buy hip hop but as a 36 year old man a lot of the chat in the music is aimed at the youngers.
Watch out for my new album: 'The struggles of Dad' and the follow up EP: 'I'm gonna kill my teenage stepson... With a gun'
I would say 30 as well but some rappers like 2chains was in his late 30s when he finally got popular/mainstream. I know Dom Kennedy 31 & should be getting more exposure but is not as big as others.
I know this is an old post but here are some Hip Hop artists who didn’t achieve Mainstream success until 30+
Danny Brown-30
Yelawolf-31
2 Chainz-34
Jay Electronica-31
Childish Gambino musically-30
